Tommaso Diavolo Cyclocross Bike (Professional)

The new Tommaso Diavolo Carbon Cyclocross Bike comes with plenty of testing and thought behind its spec and design. Tommaso’s own product team got out and raced, rode and suffered to make this bike. It is a labor of love and blood and Tommaso came up with the perfect bike. The Diavolo attacks the trails, roads and race courses with racer-favorite SRAM Rival components, solid Kore Gradient wheels and Tommaso TRS handlebar, stem and seat post. The Tommaso Diavolo will provide miles of dependability and excitement whether commuting or racing. The carbon 12K Diavolo is a fast and stable carbon devil loaded with great spec at a price you can’t afford to miss.

The Tommaso Diavolo was featured in the November 2010 issue of VeloNews. You can see the feature here:

The Tommaso Diavolo in VeloNews

Cyclocross is a tough sport and the engineers at SRAM understand this better than anyone. Look at the pits of the local cross race and you will see SRAM on most of the bikes.  Tommaso went for the Rival group because it delivers performance race after race. The carbon Rival “Double Tap” shift levers are paired up with the Rival front and rear derailleurs. Putting all of this great technology in motion is the SRAM Rival OCT (Open Core Technology) aluminum crank with cross specific 46/38 chainrings. The cross gearing is lower so you don’t get bogged down in the sand or deep grass but leaves enough for applying the horsepower on the finishing straight away.

Other Tommaso Diavolo highlights include the light aluminum Tommaso TRS handlebar, stem and seatpost. These components are light, strong and built to last. Shallow drop bars are a cross standard and the seatpost is a double bolt for great adjustability and strength for the dismounts and remounts. Kore supplies the braking power with its Kore Kross aluminum cantilever brakes with plenty of mud clearance. The grip to the ground is provided by the best cross clinchers out there, the Hutchinson 700x34 Bulldog tires. Beefy enough to take on the hard-pack trails and just right for the morning commute. So the next fire road you see shooting into the distance is your welcome sign…get out there and explore.

The Tommaso Frame
The Tommaso Diavolo’s chasis is a 100% Monocoque 12K 1060 gram carbon frame and 440 gram carbon fork. The frame was designed for maximum acceleration and handling while leaving plenty of room for mud. This ensures that the rider gets the lightest, strongest and best performing machine for the demands of cyclocross. The frame design and geometry place the rider in the optimum position for steady handling and comfort. The geometry also opens the main triangle up to allow for shoulder carrying the bike should the course or road afford that opportunity. The Diavolo has a full carbon cross fork with cantilever mounts.

The Tommaso Fit
Sizing a cyclocross bike is no different, or more difficult, than any other style of bike. Some riders prefer a slightly smaller size cross bike from their road bike for snappier handling. Some ride the same size as their road bike. It is a personal preference and a quick review of the size chart will provide the information you need to get the right bike. The size chart lists suggested heights for the different frame sizes. This is far more helpful in sizing a bike than standing over the top tube and pulling up on the handlebars (which tells you nothing about the fit of a bike). Tommaso offers seven sizes to accommodate riders large and small. It will be easy to find a fit for all of our customers.

The Tommaso Feel
The staff at Tommaso ride, race and believe in what they make. They approached the frame design as if they were building their own bike…in truth they were. They spent a hardcore season of cross racing this past winter in Colorado. One of the best rides to go on is the one without a destination. The weekends are great for heading out of town and exploring that dirt road that shoots off the main highway and disappears. Some of the best kept secrets begin with a gravel road and no street sign. With the Diavolo you will have the confidence to travel those roads. A cyclocross bikes will bring out the no limits style in your riding. The beefier tires and frame will give you the added confidence to get a little crazy out on the road or trail. This bike is no delicate flower and it wants to get dirty. It is the sweet spot of getting away and not seeing many cars. Find your inner adventurous side…find your inner devil…ride your Diavolo.
