So I've had the bike a little over about 2 weeks and am loving it. It is super lightweight and sturdy. It can handle the road and trails without any problem. The Hutchinson tires stick to the trails pretty good. I ended up getting a 56cm. I'm 5'11" and it fits me well. The only thing that I could say is a con is the brake pads not gripping very tight. But that shouldn't deter you from buying the bike because that is an easy fix.

I got the pro-build and the bike turned out well. I had to do a lot of adjustments with the rear derailleur. Seems like I pretty much had to start from scratch. The lowest gear might be a little big but you're not really going to use that anyways so that's ok.

I would definitely recommend this bike and look forward to my upcoming rides.

I'm a fairly heavy guy. I was looking for a bike that would take some extra abuse, so I figured the cyclocross might be the answer for me. Looking around at the local bike shops only brought discomfort. Paying twice the money for half the bike wasn't a bit fun for me either. I found this Tommaso Diavolo here. I was in the Trek dealer's store. I showed them this bike online. All they could do was throw **** all over this thing. Trek is a great bike, however, I think you're paying Lance Armstrong a bit too much for his endorsement. Anyway, I got the Diavolo. I've riden streets, trails, bike paths, gravel roads, and dirt roads. I've taken it to the campsite. The bike is amazing. It performs wonderfully. After about 6 months of riding fairly regular I took the bike to get it's adjustments, to the same people who threw the **** all over it. Boy were they surprised! They wouldn't eat their words in front of me, but believe me, they ATE their words.
As I said, I'm a fairly heavy, I'm also in my fifties. I have NO desire for competition. This bike may be WAY overkill for me but, I like what it does and I like impressing my friends, and I LOVE pissin' off the bike shops! You will too! Get the bike!

I've had my Tommaso Diavalo for nearly two months and a really love it! I spent quite a bit of time chatting online before I made the purchase. I'm 6'3" and the tech advised me to buy the 58cm rather than the 60cm. The 58cm fit great. I found the bike to be a bit tall and short in comparison to my Trek Madone. The Pro-build was well executed. I was up and riding in just a few minutes.

I'm mainly a road and time trial racer. I wanted a bike for gravel racing, training as well as to try cyclocross. Being able to train on gravel roads really opened up a bunch of new, interesting, low traffic roads. (tell your spouse the bike will make your hobby safer!).

Used the bike to place in the top ten in races that I couldn't keep up with the peleton in last year. I got the bike muddy on the first ride to help get over keeping my bikes perfectly clean! :-)

Pro's:
1. Carbon fiber frame soaks up shocks, but none of your power. Not as smooth as my Madone, but a carbon fiber frame at this price point is an amazing value.
2. Love the Hutchinson Bulldog tires. They are equally fast on mud, gravel and the road. Running them at 40 PSI make the bike ride very nicely on the gravel.
3. The seat seems to be just fine with the right amount of "grip"
4. The bike looks just like a Ridley, for half the cost. I got a lot of compliments on the bike. Everybody wanted to know what a Tommaso was.
5. The SRAM Rival groupset seems very nice. I've always ridden Shimano STI. I was surprised how quickly I adjusted to the double tap and wished all my bikes shifted like an SRAM.
5. The bike handles very confidently. The steering is quick enough to allow easy racing, but not too twitchy, so you can descend gravel hills at high speed.
6. The wheels allow tubeless operation, but I haven't attempted that, yet.

Cons
1. The brake didn't grab quite as strongly as I expected. It seemed like the brake pad durometer was too high.
2. I had trouble with the KORE Gradient wheel. I had to get the rear wheel trued after a couple hundred miles and now I have a broken spoke. Not a big deal, but irritating.
3. No water bottle mounts. I know that a classic cyclocross shouldn't have any, but I would have like the option to install them. Plan to use the bike all the time, so I will need to use a triathlon mount on the seat post when I need more water than I can stuff in my jersey.

Overall, just an awesome value for the money. Be sure to cake advantage of the online chat to get all the advice you'll need. Any other manufacturer I would have been buying an aluminum frame with a lower end groupo for this price.

This bike is great for the money performs well and is quite sharp. I personally hate the million and a half decals that companies plaster on my bike, the lack thereof makes me smile. I don't mind giving them credit where credit is due but seriously... Anyway, bike looks sharp handles well and is comfortable. Biggest complaints were small problems with the pro-build (Tommaso and giantnerd were very willing to help me out here) and bar tape could be a little more comfortable. Other than that mud, rain, gravel and grass have become my b*%#&. Wish there was a Shimano version though... I prefer that gruppo. Also I suggest downsizing since the top tube is quite long here. I feel a little more stretched out than I do on my road bike of the same tube length.

Got my gorgeous Diavollo (54cm) today and was on the rode/trails in 20 minutes thanks to the pro build. I was very impressed by the box it was shipped in, once I got the hex nut undone that holds the front fork secure to the box. I just put the wheel on, stuck the seat/post into the frame, blew up the tires and it was complete. Be advised you'll need a wrench to get the hex nut undone, mine was really torqued down and an Allen key for the seat clamp. Fortunately, I brought along tools as we built it in the post office parking lot. First impressions of the bike were that it felt larger than my road 54 bike that I ride and the seat tube length as denoted really measures 60 cm to the top of the seat collar and not 54 as in the specs. Also, the Rival drive train is much heavier than the Red I've had previous experience with, maybe it's the extra housing of the internal cables, anyways it will be difficult when racing and near exhaustion to push for easier gears!
Other than the brakes pads installed backwards (minor issue) it was sweet build.
I'll ride it on the road with different tires for a while before cross season and see how the fit works out, I'm 5'81/2 and just at the cutoff between a 54 and 52, could possibly handle a 52 better, the top tube seems high and I'm more stretched out than normal for me.
Looking forward to a long relationship together and maybe some podiums in my first cross season!

I've had my Diavolo for nearly a month now and I've been very pleased with it. I've ridden Mt. bikes for over 25 years but this is my first cross bike. The Diavolo fits me very well and the frame soaks up the road. On the older bike paths and roads where I live, the stiff speed of my high end carbon road bike is offset by the smoother ride of the diavolo, and it's ease at hopping onto the dirt shoulder as need be. The Diavolo flys up the railroad grade of Mt. Tam and picks up the pace even more on the pavement up top. I'm very happy with the wheels, and the components are all fine. I will upgrade the seat. Since I got the bike primarily for recreation and transport I'd prefer disc brakes, but the Kore cantilevers are great if there's mud or racing cross. I looked at a number of cyclocross bikes before choosing the Tommaso. Some of the well respected cyclocross brands were appealing but the Tommaso carbon frame and solid choice of parts for the price encouraged me to give the Diavolo a go and I'm glad I did. This bike is turning out to be my favorite bike due it's comfort, speed, and versatility. The bike arrived quickly and in good condition( box is good!). I got the probuild and still needed some minor tuning and tightening(always good to check things). The customer service from Giantnerd was great and nerd dollars enhance the deal even more! There were not a lot of reviews to be found so I hope this helps. So far, it's an unbelievably sweet ride!

The Tommaso Diavolo was probably the most fun I have ever had working on a bike for Tommaso. Not only did the staff at Tommaso spec this bike out to be sexy and perform well - I got to race it all last year. That's my idea of working on the weekends! The frame is full monocoque carbon and light at 1050 grams. The fork is full carbon as well with cantilever mounts. The combination is stiff and fast off the line. Starts in a cross race are everything and this bike bolts from the gun. The handling is amazing and with sand, dirt, grass, mud and pavement to contend with you need a bike that handles well. I raced in some nasty conditions and the mud clearance was spot on. The Rival components are the most sought after in the cross scene. The wheels are strong and dressed up with Hutchinson Bulldog cross tires. I raced these all last year and they were perfect for dry or wet. the Kore Kantilever brakes were easy to set up and have barrel adjusters for quick adjustments if you need to change a wheel. Rounding out the rest of the spec is our Tommaso TRS handlebar (short drop fro cross), stem and seat post (with double bolt for secure remounts). For the money I can honestly say you will not find a bike that beats this bike. Heck, put the carbon Tommaso Diavolo up against machines that cost $1,000 more and we'll take all comers! Get this bike.
