I'm a firm believer in buying the best equipment that I can afford and I'm DAMN sure I got the best bike for my money with this bike. Took just 9 days to arrive and was packaged perfectly, took just 10 minutes to unbox, put the seat post on, flip up the handlebars and I was OFF! My roadie friends can't believe what a great deal I got and are slappin' high fives with me after seeing it. The fit and finish are spot on. Even the frame welds look purty.

With the money I saved I've been able to buy some really nice SIDI's, Speedplay lollipops, bibs, jerseys and jacket. Thanks GiantNerd!

I ordered the coltello in May and it took just under 2 weeks for delivery. I ordered the Genius Build service with the bike. The setup was pretty quick and easy. I am a big fan of the bike and it was a great deal. However, I do have a complaint. After assembling the bike, I had to adjust both front and rear deraillers, both front and back brakes. Upon closer inspection I saw that the wheels weren't trued. I am very new to cycling and did my own research on how to make the adjustments. I did send a customer service request when waiting for the delivery trying to get a status update on the ship and never got a response after leaving 2 messages and sending 2 emails. So far, the product seems like a good one at a great price but the level of service from GN seems sub-par and not very professional. After making my own adjustments, I am happy with the bike and don't need anything further. I just hope if I do have to call or request service in the future that it will be better than my initial experience. I would suggest buying the product, but just know that the build might need some tuning to get it to a rideable state.

I was wondering if the Shimano Ultegra 6700 Road Bike Pedals would work on the Tommaso Coltello?

9 month review update.

The honeymoon period between me and my coltello eventually wore off and I have gripe. The gearing tops out downhill. Sure i'm going 40mph, but sometimes thats not fast enough. Yea I know its an easy enough fix I just need to stop being lazy.

The bike is still superb all the way around, love the geometry and the stiffness from the aluminum. LOVE the value.

My Tommaso Coltello arrived about 2 months ago with the pro-built option. The packaging was very professional done. For someone inexperience like me, I put together the bike in 15 minutes. Nothing needs to be calibrated. The bike is excellent. I took it for a trial mile ride; I was fascinated that it reduced my time by 20% easily, comparing to my old race bike. I very much look forward to using it for Triathlon races this summer.

I got a Mondial as a gift back in December but wasn't thrilled about the size. I called up the Nerd to check out my options and was basically given the open door to pick out any bike, any size, and swap it out no questions no issues. As a bonus they let me meet them at their shop in Boulder CO to do a little tinkering. I settled on the Coltello to help kick ass during the summer tri season and have yet to have a single gripe about it.

The bars feel fantastic, both on the breaks and in aero.
The drive-train might as well be made out of butter. I've put 500 miles on her in the last few months and have yet to skip a shift, drop a chain, or hear even so much as a click along the way.
Overall the thing is a rocket, i'll ride it over my buddy's 3,000 carbon Colnago any day of the week. Plus it just looks villainous in the black and white.

After signing up for my first triathlon, a 70.3, I knew I needed a bike that would help me complete those 56 miles. While researching online I ran across my future Coltello. What a deal! I couldn't believe that I could get a bike with the components it has for such a good price. It was a great decision. I love it on my trainer and looking forward to getting it on the road. (Since others mentioned that they got the probuild. I did not get the probuild but I was surprised how much it was put together. I took it to an bike shop and got it built and fitted.)

The staff at Giantnerd is also amazing. They are helpful and friendly. I will definitely shop with Giantnerd in the future. And what a great name!

I just received my Coltello. The shipping was super fast. Bike was in great shape. I am very impressed with Pro Build. The bike went together very quickly and everything was well adjusted and tight. I went for a 30 mile ride the next morning with my group. I took tools along expecting to need some tweeks, but everything was spot on. Thanks Giantnerd!

This is my second Tommaso (I own an Imola as well). This bike is awesome and the probuild/ shipping from Giant Nerd was unbelievable. The components are top notch and while the cost is low, the quality is is top notch. When you order a bike it comes packed in a heavy duty container and it is very easy to assemble. I had mine out of the box and ride ready within 20 minutes. Oh and shipping took 3 business days- well actually I had my bike from the time I ordered to assembled at my house in 3 business days- and I used standard shipping. I have had the bike for about 3 weeks and have logged over 200 miles so far (plus another 130 on the Imola) . I have it parked on the trainer for the next few months as I train for the spring Tri season.

Tommaso and Giant Nerd make buying a bike a simple and easy experience. I Highly recommend both and look forward years of flying on my rocketship!

I bought this bike (with Giant nerd pro-build) a few days before my first triathlon and on race day, just 2 minutes after coming out of the transition area, I pulled on the left hand gear shift and it failed to work for me, what a disappointment. A few days back I brought the bike into my local bike store and they said that the front derailleur was loose and the left hand shifter cable had been poorly assembled (or at least damaged by the poorly assembled front derailleur). Having paid for pro-build this was the last thing I was expecting.

In saying this, i think the bike itself is great, I managed a 1.07 (40k) raceday despite the gear hiccup. The bike is very fast for an entry-level tri bike, wont be beaten for price, and has run smoothly since I got the gears-derailleur looked at. I recommend this bike to someone looking for an entry-level tri bike (hence my 5 star rating) but I wouldn't recommend pro-build given my own personal experience... I'm still left wondering what my bike time would have been had the mechanics ticked right for me on raceday.

I truly appreciate this experience. With pro-build, bike took no time at all to set up. Came in completely set up including the bike computer that I purchased. That was a great bonus that I didn't expect, so thanks. One and only(minor in my mind) issue was a stripped seat post screw head. Easy to replace, and I was planning on getting a quick connect seat post screw anyway. Bike is great and comfortable. Only took three shipping days. Holy cow that was quick. First road style bike that I own/ride, so I am excited with the comfort and speed.

After much research for a new tri bike, I finally purchased the Tommaso Coltello and it is nice! I took it into my local bike shop to have the pros assemble it and they were literally in awe of not only the details of the bike but apparently also of the fantastic packaging job. The bike arrived much quicker than I had expected and am looking forward to my first distance ride on it this weekend.

Got my bike today, very sharp. Took all of 20 minutes to assemble. Shipping was suppose to take 10-14 days but arrived in 5 :)

Reveived my bike a couple weeks ago and have no complaints. Assembly was quick and easy. Ride is smooth and transition between gears is seamless.

I got my bike only a few days ago (shipping took only 6 days, including quick build, even though shipping said 10-14). It really only took 15 minutes to assembly to ride ready condition, and a quick spin around the neighborhood confirmed everything I was hoping from the bike. It is extremely comfortable, the components are awesome and operate extremely smooth. I look forward to riding this bike for a long time and am racing it in two weeks! Couldn't be happier, and nothing comes close to it in price!
