The Agusta Digger comes with Tommaso 46/18T gearing that can easily be changed to better suit your style of riding. It also comes with a KMC single speed chain.

I noticed that you were also asking about the Imola, so I figured I would give a good comparison of the two to help you make your decision. Both bikes are great for college commutes. The Imola is a true road bike, it has front and rear brakes, gearing so you can shift for speed, and it has a carbon fork to absorb the bumbs in the road for a more comfortable ride.

On the other hand, you mentioned in your Imola question that you would like to turn it into a fixie. This is possible, however, the August Digger comes as a fixie - so that might be another option for you. This also means the August Digger has no breaks, and is a single speed bike. Also, the fork is not carbon so the ride won't be as cusioned of a ride. Note - We do offer breaks that can be installed on this bike.

You are looking at two great bikes! It ultimately comes down to how important the ease of ride is to you, as the Imola will definitely be a more comfortable college commute if you have limited fixie experience.

The one thing you don't have to worry about - you will look stylish on either one!

I would say skip buying the 58. I am also 5'11" with rather long legs and I got the 56. It is the perfect height for me.

It is true that switching from a road bike to a track bike is not necessarily easy however it is both fun and rewarding. Once you get the whole coasting aspect out of your head and understand that you are always pedaling you're over the first hump, the second hump is stopping which will become more comfortable with time.

As with any discipline of riding there is a learning curve, don't let that scare you off from an awesome experience. I say go for it! "Once you go track, you'll never go back"... or something like that :)

Edherson, I ride all types of bikes and I really enjoy my fixed gear! It take a little getting used to but if you are a confident cyclist the learning curve is super easy. I rode my Tommaso fixed gear for a while without a braking system and it can be a little tricky to handle, especially when you pick up speed. I recommend fixed gear riders install either a front or rear brake if they are planning on using the bike to ride around town. There are so many things (cars, people, dogs and potholes) that can jump out at you and it is nice for all parties to have a quick braking system. I'm all for being safe! Guaranteed you'll love either the Tommaso Digger or Tommaso Ninja!

Adding front brakes is not a problem on any of the Tommaso Agusta track bikes. Even better we can do it for you with our probuild service. We recommend that you go with the Tommaso cross style front brake system. It comes in in black or chrome and will not only slow you down but also turn heads!

Alex, I would suggest having a professional build your wheels if you have any questions. Specifically regarding hub angles, there is nothing about this frame that would necessitate a unique hub angle on the wheel build.

no unfortunately it dose not. bicycles with standard track geometry do not have clearance for bar spins. unless you put a 650c wheel on the front.

Comes with a pair of Kenda K-152 700x23c tires from what I found.

both the specs on this site and the specs on the tammaso site say 700x23c

it could depend on the size frame you get. on their web site, all the frames will say they have 700x23c tires. but, some people who have gotten the larger frame sizes have 70x25c tires. this is probably because Tommaso listens to their customers needs to create nice out of the box bikes, hence why some of the models of their road bikes say they come with the Forza seat, but instead come now with a Tommaso seat with more padding (like i got on my Imola). if you got a FaceBook account, hit up their page and ask them. they are pretty speedy about responding to people, and you can get the exact info from them that way.

All of our track/fixie/singlespeed bikes come with a flip-flop 18t rear hub that can be set up as a fixie or set up as a freewheel with brakes. You could always switch up your rear gearing with a 16t tooth Surly 1/8"x16t silver Track Cog to run it as a fixie or a Sunlite Freewheel 16T x 3/32" to run it as a freewheel with brakes. A special freewheel removal tool is required to switch up the freewheels/cogs.
