As green as green gets, the Verde 20 is as far as we could push our Green Effect program. Climashield Green insulation is post-consumer recycled polyester. EcoSensor Recycled Shell material is spun from recycled materials, too. The Cocona Woven liner incorporates sustainable, all-natural Cocona for improved moisture management and odor prevention. Warm, comfortable, durable, just like all our bags, in the most earth-friendly version we could dream up—the Verde 20.
The Verde utilizes Climashield Green insulation, Cocona lining and an EcoSensor shell. Keeping the earth green while keeping you warm.

This is a great intro bag for someone looking to get into camping/backpacking but doesn't want to invest a lot at this time. The synthetic insulation is great if you plan to do some paddling/wet adventures as synthetic insulation will retain more heat when wet than down.
Improvements gained from a more expensive bag: Will pack down smaller and weigh less. Also the insulation in most cases will last longer (maintain at the advertised temperature rating for much longer).
