The easiest shoes for walking around off the bike are spd compatible mountain bike shoes. Spd pedals and shoes use a much smaller cleat than a road cleat. The cleat on a spd pedal/shoe system are recessed in the sole of the shoe. Listed below are a few spd pedal and shoe options.

This shoe is supposed to be walkable and also offers a recessed 2 bolt cleat attachment for SPD cleats like a mtb shoe. Just wondering how "walkable" they are?

I don't have these shoes but I do have 2 bolt shoes which are basically the same recessed cleat set up.

The first time I took out my new road bike I hadn't yet purchased a underseatbag so I didn't have a tube repair kit or a cell phone with me and 4 miles out I got a flat. I walked the 4 miles home carying my bike on my shoulders (lucky it is a carbon frame).

Bike shoes have an increadably hard stiff sole. The usual Road Shoes have the big 3 bolt cleats that make you walk like a duck. Foour miles in a 3 bolt shoe would have been a killer.

Now, having said all that, if you think these are shoes you can ride in and then walk around, like for commuting, forget it.
