The Shimano SH-MT42N mountain bike shoes do not come with cleats. Cleats are specific to the pedals that you are using. Also, road shoes are only compatible with road pedals and mountain shoes are only compatible with mountain pedals. In addition, all of our clipless pedals come with cleats.

Cleats come with pedals. These cleats will either match a 2 or 3 bolt shoe. MTN bike shoes are 2 bolt and road shoes are typically three. The term clips usually refers to "toe clips" which are the cage on the front of a flat pedal. For shoes like these that don't use clips but clipless pedals, pedals will have to be bought separately but the pedals will come with cleats.

They are pretty comfortable but I don't think they'll give you any extra protection against wind

Actually, just bought a pair from you and they are substantially thicker material than my mesh-sided MTB shoes. Looking forward to some warmer feet while doing commuter rides this season.

We recommend that you would use a size 43 European if you typically wear a size 9 1/2.

If you are riding your bike everyday then I would say these shoes are great and very comfortable. This is a cycling specific shoe though so unless you're riding your bike I would not recommend this shoe. As far as mountain bike shoes go these shoes have a very forgiving and relaxed fit, when you get into the more expensive shoes is when you see more rigid and specialized fits.

In general this shoe is great for everyday use, so long as you use it for cycling.
