If mountain bike trails were static and flat, they would be called roads. Therefore, when you are actually riding your mountain bike on mountains, you should strap in with a shoe that can match the terrain. Shimano’s M161 has a tough, armored synthetic upper and a shock absorbing EVA insole to protect your feet as you plummet. The M161’s sole is made with a reinforced carbon shank plate to keep your feet feeling firm and stiff and optional toe spikes will help offer traction in sand or dirt.

Was really easy to set cleat on shoes, turning medium pressure on my shimano pedals 520 make this click very easy to hook up and dismount, at first was scary to precision on this shoes ride, but I feel 100% satisfied, no problem after adjusted, they has pretty good look, even I feel free to walk, very inexpensive for the quality i got , amazing shoes I will buy it again, and I recomended, I am using this one one GT Force , Shimano pedals 520, on dirty trails. I recomended, Nothingis wrong.

Own a pair I use with the cross bike. Cleats in the front give u the grip you need running up those muddy hills. Those two spikes in the front make it a rough commuter shoe though. I am afraid to wear them around my own house... They're removable but not easy to get out. I don't want to be popping them in and out every day...

i am a 8.5 american....and i am not sure if i should go with 42.5 or 43....do these run a bit smaller or are they true in size...

We recommend that you ride in a 42 according to the shimano sizing chart. Keep in mind that you want your shoes to fit snugly so you don't have excessive movement when pedaling your bike.

Do you guys stock the 2 bolt cleat that fits these Shimano M161 shoes, for SPD pedals? I have tried to find it on the site with no luck. Thanks

These should be compatible anything that says spd and not spd-sl.

I am looking to buy my first pair of clip in shoes for commuting and MTB use. I have been looking at the Shimano M161's. Anybody have any comments before I pull the trigger on these? Thanks, Nick

The M161's are a great, stiff, lightweight shoe that allow for easy in the saddle adjustments with the micro adjustment buckle.
