I Missed The Deal!!!
I was in the middle of purchasing this awesome bike on Monday night for $552.49 when we lost power at my house and had no computer connection to finish up the purchase. Got power back on Tuesday morning and the extra 15% off was gone when I went to complete the purchase!!! I chatted with a Giantnerd rep and they said they couldn't do anything for me - really? - What is the difference in Giantnerds cost on that bike from Monday night to Tuesday morning? I thought I was going to get a lot of "LOVE" - but I got kicked to the curb. :(
I Missed The Deal!!!
Don't worry, we still love you. The problem is that our system won't allow the discount to be applied once the code becomes inactive. There is no way to apply that discount anymore.
I Missed The Deal!!!
That's cold Giantnerds.

Bike weight
Hi Jeff. What is the total weight of the Schwinn Le Tour Elite Road Bike (Intermediate) bike? Thanks in advance.
Bike weight
I have a Schwinn CF1000, very similar to the LeTour (aluminum main triangle, carbon fiber fork and rear stays). With pedals it weighs in at 22 lbs. This model Le Tour comes with better grade brakes, crank and gruppo than mine, so you might save a pound there. But expect 20-22 lbs with pedals.
Bike weight
I did a lot of research on this bike and never could find a published weight. I did find one at a LBS in the large size and had the sales guy weigh it for me - came in at about 22-23lbs. I thought it would be less but from what the sales guy said it was the heavy wheels and tires bringing up the poundage. Never really could find out which pedals came with this bike either. Jeff Lesser said it came with the pedals listed in the description but the photo shows clipless pedals. The one I saw in the LBS had the clipless pedals. Nice bike - hope it goes back on sale again so I can afford it.

AWESOME!
Great! The price has increased $20 on this bike - that puts me $20 further away from buying it now - Oh well, the search goes on.
AWESOME!
You may want to take a look at a different bike that works for your budget. We just started pre-selling the new line of Tommaso bikes and the Tommaso Imola with Carbon Fork is very similar to this bike and a bit cheaper.

I want this bike - but...
Jeff,
If these are selling so well why hasn't anyone written a review on it?
I want this bike - but...
They are busy riding their bikes is my guess.

"unassembled"?
what condition is the bike in if it comes "unassembled"? how much assembly is required?
"unassembled"?
If you get it without the Genius Build it comes about 50% assembled and 0% tuned. You will need to have it assembled and tuned by a professional to validate the warranty and ensure the bicycle is tuned for safe riding.
"unassembled"?
I have purchased Schwinn bikes before from Amazon.com and both of them have come about 90% assembled. I only needed to install the handle bar, pedals and front wheel. Had to adjust the brakes but that was about it. All in all took about 20 minutes.

I want this bike - but...
Come on GiantNerd Supreme Beings- lower the price so I can buy this bike!
I want this bike - but...
These bikes are very popular and are moving well, I wouldn't recommend waiting for the price to drop to pick this bike up. The bike will likely stay as it is until the bikes sell out.

Okay on Pedals
I'll take your word for it - but if the bike shows up at my house with clip type pedals and I have to purchase regular pedals or special shoes I'm not going to be very happy.
Okay on Pedals
I just received the Le Tour Elite and it has the clipless pedals like the picture shows. The description says cage pedals, now I can't ride it without buying shoes!

2nd Pedal Question ?????
Are you sure this bike comes with the stated pedals? I went to a local bike shop today and this bike had the shoe clip type pedals and not nylon body road pedal with steel cage and toe clip & straps like you stated. I really do not want to get this bike and have to run out and buy pedals or special shoes - please check again for me - Thanks
2nd Pedal Question ?????
The bike will come with a nylon body road pedal with steel cage and toe clip & straps.
2nd Pedal Question ?????
Wrong answer, I just got one and it has the clipless pedals
2nd Pedal Question ?????
How about sending both pedals with the bike?
