Nitrous Down sounds like a variation of a dental drug. The "Rocky Mountain High" (no narcotics required) can indeed be experienced with the right equipment, but it starts with the proper foundation. The Nitrous Down 800-fill goose down mid-weight jacket can be used alone at the beginning of the winter or as a base layer for the times of nor'easter.
You might think "DWR" is a fancy scientific term. There is, in fact, a definite chemistry involved with the outside of this jacket. A liquid hydrophobic treatment causes water to bead up and run off the shell. So while you're defying gravity on the slopes, water is complying with it -- right off your torso!

Bought this for my wife after trying and reviewing multiple different brands with her, all with 800 fp down and DWR treated lightweight exterior. Couldn't find a better deal than this. Perhaps all these jackets themselves are not as warm as you might expect because they are designed to be lightweight, layered properly, and used during exercise and technical pursuits. Nonetheless, amongst competitors with equivalent features and materials, this MHW model beats the rest based on best trim, feminine and flattering fit and design for a woman.
