Weight Weenies Not sure of the weight issue, but I can tell you that the Marin XS would likely be your size, although maybe a hair large in my opinion. The XS is a size 50 and the sizing chart on this site is a bit misleading. If you go to Marin's site you will see that they recommend the size 50 for 5'2" - 5'5". Being 5'3" with short legs you might just be as small as possible to fit this bike.

At home it usually on a very nice local trail... lots of smooth pavement miles, but crowded on Sat and Sun and way too many stop signs. On the weekends when I'm the summer place its nothing but great country roads and I love it!!

I use it mostly for mapping out "know" rides... like an upcoming race... so I can see the course, elevation profile, etc. I also like using it to search for other peoples routes, so if I'm going to a new area on vacation or something and I bring my bike I can find a route from someone local.

Be careful what you end up buying. You said that you want to do Tris and TTs... while all TT bikes are legal for Tris, not all Tri bikes are legal for TTs. While not super common if the TT falls under UCI rules you may have an issue with some Tri bikes.
