Road pedals for this bike... Thanks for the input Carol and Michael. I used SPD cleats when I did a few tri's a couple of years ago and decided to carry on the tradition. I ended up getting some Shimano SPD M540's for my road bike. I know they are technically a mountain bike cleat but quite a few of the reviewers used them for road cycling and gave great reviews. I got them from Amazon for $48 which is less than the normal $89.

Genius Build... George, I just contacted my local bike shop about assembling my bike. They charge $70 for full assembly (the cost of a full tune-up) or $40 if you want to be a man and assemble it yourself and they will make the minor adjustments necessary. I for one will assemble it myself and pay the $40 for them to do the fine adjustments I cannot do on my own and get them to show me how to do it for future reference. Hope this helps.

Genius Build... I ordered this bike on the 5th and did not get genius build b/c other reviewers like Reginald said most people end up going to an LBS for tweaks anyway. Plus I also wanted an excuse to meet the people at the LBS as I will probably need their advice in the future. I can't give you a price difference, but someone on here said something about their LBS charging them ~$35.
