Excellent Skinny Slings

I have several of these slings on my rack set up as trad draws, and also use one of the 180s for a quad setup on sport anchors, and I've been really happy with them. They weigh nothing and rack up small so you can carry a load of them without too much pain. The durability of these is actually better then you would expect for such a skinny sling, and I've got a few that are 3-4 seasons in and still going strong, but with heavy use expect to replace these every other season or so. The only downside of these is that they aren't good for friction hitches (Dyneema is too slippery and has a low melting point), but I carry perlon rescue loops on my harness when I need to prussik something. All in all, Mammut did their homework and did a great job creating the skinniest sling on the market.

Great Trad / All Round Shoe

These shoes are really pretty good at every type of climbing, though naturally they excel at long, all-day trad routes where other shoes would leave your toes bleeding. Great toe shape for climbing cracks too. While these shoes are obviously designed for outdoor use, I've used them several times pulling plastic, and they work fairly well for the gym as well. Because these are made from unlined leather, they will fit like they're custom made after a few times climbing in them, but you'll want to buy them fairly small to start with, or they will stretch too much and become sloppy. Of course, they are constructed with La Sportiva's typical attention to quality and detail.
