Waiting for my Velocita!

Nerd Bio

Got my Velocita.  Rode a bunch in my first two months, enough to convince my wife to get me an upgrade.  Went to take advantage of the great return policy (the reason that I bought from Giantnerd) and I found out that the return policy was a sham.  Giantnerd refused to accept the bike back since it could no longer be in the shape it was in when I got it, due to two months of riding. I have gotten bitter.

Report after 25 miles...

Just went on my first ride! The OBE (out of box experience) was great. Just adjusted the handlebars, put in the seatpost, and mounted the front wheel. Took it for a 25 mile ride on Friday (March 2nd, Buffalo, 50 degrees!) Great shifting, smooth braking, luxurious ride. Really enjoyed the upgrade from my mid 70's vintage Time Trial frame, and the modern shifting. At first, I didn't know how to upshift. Push in gently to downshift, and push in far to upshift. It took me about 1/4 mile to figure it out. The wheels have a machined braking surface that makes for very secure and smooth braking. So far so good (and the value can't be beat!). I'll check in again in 1000 miles.
