smallest tires   You could run almost any 26" tire on the Marauder. I would consider running a Kenda Small Block 8 2.1" tire. They're light, run fast on hardpack trails, and are affordable!

beginner   The Tiempo and the Imolas are some of our best selling bikes. If you plan on riding longer, 100 mile + rides I recommend that you go with the Imola Carbon as it weighs over 5 lbs less than the Tiempo. A lighter bike will accelerate much faster and will also climb much easier. Both bikes feature durable Tommaso frames and quality Shimano/Sunrace component groups. If you're riding on extremely rough road you may want to back off on the tire pressure and run 100 psi.

Size   At 5'7" we recommend that you ride a 15" Marauder. You can view the geometry and sizing chart for any bike on giantnerd by clicking on the sizing chart located to the right of the ad to cart icon.

length?   The blackburn mountain air is easily small enough to fit in a hydration pack like a Camelback.

Tires   You could easily run a 2.3 or larger tire depending on the manufacturer on the Airborne Zeppelin Elite/

unsure on size   Due to their down insulation they can easily be compressed maybe even to the size of a lemon. They are great to bring on winter overnight trips or backcountry skiing hut trips. They do not come with a case.

Imola tire size   The Imola comes with a 700 x 25 tire.

Which mountian bike size?   At 6'0" the XL frame would fit you much better than the Medium. The XL frame has a 630 mm top tube and the Large has a 600mm top tube. The medium has a TT of 564mm which would be very small for your height. You'll be a little more stretched out on the XL. This will help out when climbing.

are these any good?   The VP R80 pedals or any clipless pedal on giantnerd will work well for riders with knee issues. The important thing is to properly fit your bike and your cleat position on your road shoe.

Great for when the temp drops!

I picked up a pair of the Pearl Izumi thermafleece tights this fall for cyclocross training and bike commuting to Giantnerd. These tights are by far the best I've worn! Their 16 panel design is non-constrictive so your legs don't feel like their in tights when pedaling or running over barriers. They even have softshell patches on the knees, quads and butt to keep you warm and to keep the elements out. Plus, as with most Pearl Izumi gear these days they include reflective patches on the calves and quads to make sure vehicles can see you on the road!

Well engineered and well worth the money!

I picked these bib knickers up this fall and boy am I happy with this product. For years I would use knee warmers on days that weren't cold enough for tights but I was always having to deal with them slipping on my less than huge legs. The Pearl Izumi bib knickers fit incredibly and the extra material on the knees, thighs and crotch keep you warm in all the right places! All cyclists who don't want to put their bike away when the weather gets a little cold should pick up a pair!

Nice Lid!

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and have been putting it to the test for road, cross and mountain bike riding. It's extremely light and fits great with its TAG system. It's also the best ventilated helmet I have used. Plus, I mounted my Cat Eye double shot light system on the helmet for a night mountain bike ride and not only did the light stay put but the incredible fit of the Bell Array made me forget that I had light mounted to my helmet.

Good things come in small packages

The Crank Bros Candy Ti can been found on mountain bike and cyclocross podiums across the globe. It's simple egg beater design provides easy entry and sheds mud better than a greased teflon skillet. Plus it 198g weight per pair won't hurt by any means!

Good Jersey!

The Slice Jersey is a nice cycling jersey that will keep you cool and comfortable. The Ultra Sensor fabric is good to your skin and wicks your sweat quickly.

My favorite article of clothing that I own!

The Marmot Driclime rocks. Whether you're skinning to your favorite powder stash, layering for a cold day on the mountain, chillin' at camp, or just plain old relaxing the Driclime will be your go to piece of clothing. It's wind and weather resistant shell will keep your warm on windy ascents and it's wicking liner will keep you dry and toasty. THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO PLAYS IN THE OUTDOORS!

Supreme Cornering

I've been running the Kenda Nevegal as my front mtb tire all season. This tire holds like no other! When ever you feel like you're going to crash at high speed while descending the Nevegal will bail you out and keep you charging downhill. It may not be the lightest tire in the world but it makes up for that with exceptional control and cornering ability. It's been rated the tire of the year for two years in a row by Mountain Bike Action Magazine, no surprise to me!

Solid on comfort and control

Keep riding longer in comfort and control with the ODI Ruffian Lock on grips. Stop dealing with grips that constantly slip and move during your rides. Lock on a pair of the ODI Ruffians and you'll only be dealing with sending it faster down your favorite descent.

Keep your digits cool!

It's been very hot this week in Boulder, CO. I try to ride every day at Giantnerd for lunch and these gloves really help out on the warm days. The gloves features mesh ventilation between your fingers that keeps the air flowing throughout your hands while riding. A must have for an cyclist who rides in the heat and wants the protection of a full fingered glove.

Cover up those Pythons!

At giantnerd, we have never ever have mice around due to my enormous pythons! When riding in colder weather or when caught in nasty weather it's always good to carry a pair of arm warmers and keep your pythons covered up. Not all arm warmers are created equal. These Pearl Izumi Therma-fleece arm warmers provide great warmth and their elastic construction keeps them on your arms and not constantly falling down. They are staple in my hydration pack on high alpine mtb epics and easily fit in a jersey pocket for those colder road rides.

For when it's cold as S#$*!

I love cold weather powder riding; dry snow, no crowds and you betcha it's cold out! Be sure to grab the Rubicon Rider Jacket on the cold smoke powder days. It's 150-g Thermogreen insulation will keep you lapping the freshies when your friends are forced to go inside and sip Hot Coco. Plus, it's insulated hood will provide a tranquil oasis on those less than warm lift rides.

Carbon riser bars rock!

I've been riding the Easton Monkey light bars for two seasons and going! These bars will not only save you a 100 to 150 grams of weight from your bike but they will dampen vibrations and keep you pedaling longer.

Cover those chciken legs in style!

Have you ever heard, "Are you riding that bike or are you riding a chicken that is riding that bike?" Well you guessed it, I have a nice pair of chicken legs. I prefer to cover up my enormous, powerful, legs as much as possible with tall socks. They not only feel great due to their excellent wicking properties but they'll also protect your lower legs when riding cross or mountain. So go ahead and get yourself a pair of Tommaso tall boys. I promise your ankle high socks will never leave your sock drawer. Heck, they may even end up in your tool box as chain rags!

Review title...

The Fox Attack glove has been my go to glove for two seasons and going! It's great in that you get a true feel of the bars and don't have any padding to alter the feel of flying on your favorite singletrack. Plus, the glove is designed without a velcro strap so you'll never have to reattach a strap while flying down descents. I recommend using a plush, lock on grip like the ODI Lock On Ruffian's with the fox attacks that will help soak up vibrations. http://www.giantnerd.com/odi-odi-mtb-lock-on-ruffian-grips-bonus-130mm-w-plugs-black-grip-celeste.html

Giro MX G10

I have used the Giro MX g10 helmet for a few seasons. It's great because it offers on the fly venting adjustability. Plus, the extended visor helps protect your face during a rag doll, slide for life, starfish fall. It's a great investment..........you only have one head in life!
