Nerd Bio

I'm out of mountain biking and in a hunt for a decent road bike. Not planning on racing- but I am likely going to do some long rides for health and fitness. Until discovering GN, I've been leaning toward a purchase from Bikes Direct. I encouraged my SO to buy her bike fromthem and frankly, it came in as promised and really is a pretty sweet ride at hundreds less than the comparable Cannondale. (the owners manual was printed "Cannondale Sports"!) So I'm open to Nerd and studying what you've got. I'll probably call beforeI make a final decision! :-)

buying shoes

Okay- So previously I have had a mid level mountain bike and always had basic Wellgo platform pedals. I am expecting a BAMF Badass 29er in a few days and am looking for a recomendation for shoes and pedals. What's decent at about a $100.00 bucks for shoes and something less than that for pedals?
