The word “convertible” brings so many amazing things to mind: shiny red convertibles, Transformers, the Pearl Izumi ELITE Convertible Thermal Men’s Bike Jacket... Convertible objects are great because you can change them to fit what you need. Driving to work? You have a nice truck. Terrorist threat? Now you have a giant fighting robot. This jacket functions pretty much the same way, regrettably with less bullets and metal fists.
Made of thermal fleece to keep you warm even while biking in harsh winter weather, this jacket holds up to adverse conditions. But once the weather warms up, and it becomes a bit toasty in your jacket, simply zip off the sleeves to have a stylish vest. Or y’know, you can try to start some rocking new fad and wear just the sleeves. We’re not promising that it’ll take off, but there’s something to be said for ingenuity. It might not be able to save your life from Decepticons, but it does have reflective elements to keep you visible and safe from vehicles on the road. And for not being a giant robot, that’s pretty damn impressive.

Just don't forget to have a base layer, jersey, and then this jacket. It is simply too cold when I tried to wear my summer jersey with this jacket. The base layer will make all the difference.
Breathable thermal fleece sure helps when it is cold, but you're sweating from pedaling so hard. The removable sleeves are an awesome bonus.

I like the weight of this jacket, it's well made and a great layer - but when you zip off the sleeves, it's not a vest as I'd expected, but a short sleeved jacket. The short sleeves are too tight on my shoulders and i'm not exactly buff, so you might want to consider that when you make this purchase.
