You may have asked yourself why man can go to the moon, but can’t seem to make a bike rack compatible with disc brakes. Well, the future is here, friends: your fancy disc brakes don’t have to disqualify you from enjoying a bike rack. The Blackburn EX-1 Disk Rack features a mounting system specifically designed to work with disk brake frames, and bikes without a rear dropout. It’s also compatible with wide/narrow tires, and fits 26” & 700c frames.
The lower mounting points attach to the extra-long QR (Quick Release) skewer, which can double as a marshmallow roaster. The three strut design, which is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum rods and provides maximum load control, doesn’t really double as anything. But it doesn’t have to. Because it’s awesome.

Is this disc rack compatable with Trek 8500? I know it has disc breaks but am not sure about rear dropouts.

If your Trek 8500 is using a wheel with the ability to use a quick release skewer then it should be compatible.

1) Will this rack work with the Tommaso Imola ?
2) Does it come with brackets or other hardware to attach to the upper mounting point (none is pictured)?

No this rack will not work on the Tommaso Mondial as it doesn't have disc brakes and the Mondial as rear dropouts.
