BAMF stands for exactly what you think it does. Bikes are too personal to let some pretty Lexus induced paint job speak for who you are. If you ride a bike, really ride a bike, you know the cold burn on your face in the winter, the sound of hitting the ground and the tingle of a bloody knuckle. You don’t ride so you can put an ornament on your SUV or to get a frappuccino hoping to be seen…You hunt down those types on the trail and smirk as you rip past leaving them and their GPS wondering what happened? 

All the BAMF bikes are black (like the guys at BAMF are going to fight over color pallets and shades of blue) and come with minimal decals and a killer 4 color (gold, white, purple and blue) sticker kit for you to create the look you want. Put the stickers on the bike, your car or your friend’s back. BAMF take bikes seriously…like tattoos. They don’t want you to show up and see the exact same machine on the trail. BAMF wants you to make it your own. Bikes are a permanent fixture in their life and they pour that passion into their work...or play depending on who you ask. From the name alone, BAMF Half Nelson, you get the idea they have strong hold on what makes a great bike.

The BAMF Half Nelson is an aluminum 26” MTB ready to get it done on the trail. From the no nonsense RST Capa suspension fork to the SRAM X.4 trigger shifters, X.4 rear derailleur and Bengal mechanical disc brakes this bike is ready to go. The Half Nelson starts with a light and responsive 6061 aluminum racing frame. The RST Capa suspension fork with 80mm of travel is a solid performer that keeps the front wheel tracking the ground. The SRAM X.4 Trigger shifters are paired with the SRAM X.4 rear derailleur and SRAM 3.0 front derailleur providing a precise shifting partnership. When the time comes to scrub a little big wheel speed the Bengal mechanical brakes will be at your middle finger (BAMF humor). The BAMF MTB saddle adds a nice touch of comfort even for the hardest of riders out there can appreciate.  The alloy Suntour crank with the 42/32/22 chainring combination will have those big wheels turning. 

The BAMF Frame
The BAMF Half Nelson’s foundation is a lightweight 6061 aluminum creation with replaceable derailleur hanger, disc tabs and 1-1/8” integrated headset and water bottle mounts. The BAMF 26” MTB geometry is straight forward and solid. With four sizes to choose from BAMF has you covered. The 6061 aluminum is strong where it needs to be and light too while being dependable. The frame has a 27.2 seat post diameter and a 68mm English threaded bottom bracket. The head tube is designed to accept IS-2 standard threadless 1-1/8th bearings. This is the same frame found on the more expensive Full Nelson at a lower price. BAMF stands behind the aluminum frame with a lifetime limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If you take a jump off a loading dock…sorry, that’s on you.

The BAMF Fit 
Sizing a BAMF MTB is no different, or more difficult, than any other style of bike. By reviewing the size chart you will see a measurement called the “Eff Top Tube”, also known as the Effective Top Tube Measurement. This is what the top tube would measure if it was parallel to the ground. It is an imaginary line the runs from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat tube, if the seat tube was extended like a traditional frame. The size chart also lists suggested heights for the different frame sizes. This is far more helpful in sizing a bike than standing over the top tube and pulling up on the handlebars (which tells you nothing about the fit of a bike). BAMF offers four sizes to accommodate riders large and small. It will be easy to find a fit for all of our customers. The +/- 7° stem can also be flipped and adjusted for a lower back-friendly position to a more streamline position in minutes. The lower top tube keeps the center of gravity low and the makes for an easy approach to getting on the bike. This BAMF bike was designed with the user’s needs and comfort as the #1 priority. 

The BAMF Feel
The BAMF crew spent a lot of time getting this MTB right. After racing 24-hour events, Single Speed World Championships, downhill, cross country just about any other trail induced event the BAMF guys get mountain biking. Scars (nature’s tattoos) have been our learning lessons and we know the importance of a great frame with good handling manners and mud clearance. The BAMF crew got together to bring back the grassroots appeal to mountain biking. To disappear down the trail and experience the terrain and forget about work is a feeling we all need on a regular basis. BAMF wants to make bikes simple to understand and easy to afford. The SRAM X.4 trigger shifters and SRAM X.4 rear derailleur will keep the 8-speed cassette actuated and the speed coming. The RST Capo suspension fork will help guide you through the rough stuff and keep you tracking where you want to go. While hard-core riders try not to slow down the Bengal mechanical disc brakes provide sure stopping power when it is needed. BAMF’s own saddle will keep the miles comfortable whether in lycra or cargo shorts. BAMF knows that the Urban Jungle is fun to explore as well.
