i switch between this and chaois butt'r, both work great. sensation isn't too annoying, but it's... different, to say the least.

I first tried Assos Chamois Cream when racing the 12 hours of Mesa Verde mtb race this spring. After putting on close to 90 miles on rough technical slick rock single track I was still in great shape downstairs even though I was riding a hardtail. Assos Chamois cream is now a must for me for any 2+ hour ride!

The key to using this chamois cream/butter is twofold. First, use it as a preventative BEFORE a saddle sore starts to develop. Many, many have learned that the heard way. Secondly, there's a 'hint' of menthol in this one, not unpleasant, but be careful not to spread the cream too 'far and wide' or you'll 'tingle' your 'dingle'. (Not a 'burning down the house' sensation like an accidental migration of tiger balm or icy hot, but noticeable none the less. For women, simply swap the term 'dingle', for any cute word referring to female private parts you wish.)

Had issues with my synthetic shorts, but no more. A little goes a long way!
