2:1 Suspension
(edit this article)
Flag as Offnesive
This is a suspension design based around running low spring rates and a lower leverage ratio. Typical suspension leverage ratios are 2.5+:1. For example a 2:1 travel bike with have 6 inches of travel will have a shock stroke length of 3 inches. For every two inches of wheel travel, the shock stroke moves one inch. This provides more sensitivity and less stress on the shock. The downside is weight. The shock is bigger and consequently heavier.
