AMAZING BIKE; WHAT A STEAL

I really take my time on new big ticket purchases. I researched hi n low. GT appeared to always get the most value, about 10% less then the other manufacturers. Coupled with the steal of a deal through Giant Nerd, I pulled the trigger. Everyone local can't believe the price with the components!
About the bike...I am a NOVICE MTN bike rider, but extremely athletic and have been around bicycles and street riding a long time. I immediately took the bike to a local MTN bike park/track. I was a bit nervous but found that due to my conditioning and mainly, my sweet GT 1.0 that I got immediatly on the Intermediate trails. The bike performed phenomanally well. Not much it couldn't handle. I simply have to grow into the quality of the bike.
There are only Small sizes left on this deal, my opinion on sizing...I'm 5'5" 170lbs. The bike fits me well. But I don't think I'd recommend it for under 5'4". I think up until about 5'8" you should be just fine.
Giant Nerd was AMAZING. Great cust svc, did the Smart build etc. The few small issues I had they were on top of. If you don't go w this bike, and aren't sure about them (Giant Nerd) rest assured, I had an A+ experience. I prefer to support my local shops, but the closest stuff I found was starting at least $500 more! I couldn't have gotten into this hi end of a bike if it weren't for the 2010 factor. This bike is virtually unchanged through 2012.
Do your homework, but for me, the GT 1.0 can handle anything and again, Giant Nerd was AMAZING.

You can easily ride the small at your height. Remember it is easier to make a smaller frame larger, than a larger frame smaller.
