The 2010 GT Force 3.0 Mountain Bike features the same GT 6061 Monocoque aluminum frame with Independent Drivetrain suspension that you will find on the Force 1.0 and Force 2.0. Giving you a full 6 inches of travel to work with this frame will take you anywhere on the mountain. The idea with the Force frame is to be strong and stiff while saving the weight for the dumbbells in the gym. All Mountain isn't just a phrase with the Force 3.0 either, it features a SR MAG 32 rear shock and the Rock Shox BAR 2.1 fork to give you a full 6 inches of travel so you can take the proverbial bull by the horns. Both ends of the suspension feature rebound dampening adjustability. To match a frame so well thought out GT put Deore components on this stallion. What isn't Shimano Deore is equally as durable and affordable, WTB/DT Swiss wheels, GT branded and backed handlebar/stem/steatpost, and WTB with Kenda Navegal tires round out the components for a stellar package. Put all this together and the GT Force 3.0 truly is a force to be reckoned with.

I received my GT Force 3.0 recently, put it together in about 20 minutes (thanks to the Pro Bike Build) and took it out riding over the past couple of Saturday's. Because my old bike was a mid-level hardtail, and had outlived its usefulness on the rough trails around South Mountain Park in Phoenix Arizona, I was excited to see what the GT could do. Almost immediately, I noticed the difference as I sped through the winding, undulating landscape of the Desert Classic trail. The first thing that struck me was the bikes handling capabilities. I felt more confident taking turns at speed, and didn't feel the need to ride the brakes like I did with my old bike. When I did pull the brakes, the Tektro Pro Hydaulic's were powerful, and balanced. While I was somewhat dubious of the SR Mag front shock, it never missed a beat and hardly made a sound as it took the brunt of several jumps during my ride. The rear shock was phenominal, and I hardly noticed any bumps with the Fox equipped rear suspension. Where I did notice some issues was around the shifting. I was never able to down shift to the lowest cog on my crank, but a quick front derailleur adjustment will probably take care of that. Even the WTB seat was more than adequate, even though it looked like it would be uncomfortable at first. Overall, this is an excellent bike for all mountain riding, and a fantastic bike for the price. Couple that with the friendly and helpful staff at Giantnerd, and I would highly recommend the purchase.

I just noticed an oil leak coming from the left tube extention on the suspension fork of my GT Force. What would be the best route for me to get this fixed based on the product warranty? It appears to have leaked a fair amount of oil at this point. Thank you!

The medium weighs 31.92 lbs. The XL will weigh a bit more with its larger frame and longer stem.

I've found a new 2009 force 3.0 for $929 ... I'm not ( yet ) a serious off roader so I'm wondering if this is too much bike for me? and will I not be happy cruizin' streets / paths if this is a bike that's meant to be taken off into the wild blue yonder & down and over the path to grandma's house. anyway... bottom line is this a good bike for the money ??? any other recommendations for the price range? the other bikes I looked at locally were a Trek mamba or specialized rockhopper comp disc... thanks, from " lot's to learn bout bikin' "

I recently purchased a 2010 GT Force 3.0, and I have to tell you that it is a lot of bike for the money. I actually looked at a specialized Pitch Comp, which was 3 or 400 dollars more, but the components were actually better overall on the Force. I did a lot of research before buying, and one of the biggest draws for me was the frame. GT's independent drive is fantastic over bumps and all but eliminates pedal bob. The component set is great, and you will definitely have this bike for a long time. My recommendation is get it, because for the price you will get a lot less bike for the money if you go with something else. Then, you will have to upgrade and pay more later. Get this bike and you won't be worring about upgrading the bike, but can easily upgrade components if something breaks (and, that could be a long time unless you are a serious downhill rider.)
